Digital Twins | New Approach Methodologies (NAMs) | Medical Devices
DT-TRUST is a Horizon Europe consortium initiative developing a human-anchored New Approach Methodology (NAM) for the testing and validation of high-risk implantable medical devices. The project integrates human biological models, clinical data and in-silico clinical trials to reduce reliance on animal testing while advancing regulatory-ready evidence generation for medical device development.

HORIZON-HLTH-2024-DISEASE-03-13
This project validates fluid-derived biomarkers for the prediction and prevention of brain disorders, with a focus on autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Through continuous monitoring using wearable sensors across social, behavioral, cognitive, and physiological domains in natural environments, CONTINEAR-ASD aims to enhance daily functioning, personalize treatment, and reduce the burden of ASD. -
HORIZON-HLTH-2024-DISEASE-03-14
A project aimed at tackling high-burden, under-researched medical conditions, MAPS-PTSD applies multimodal analytics to stratify and characterize post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), facilitating improved understanding and treatment for affected individuals. -
HORIZON-HLTH-2024-STAYHLTH-01-05. An innovative solution that uses artificial intelligence, digital twins, and multi source data to create personalized digital tools for stroke prevention. PASSIONATE empowers healthcare providers with predictive analytics, offering tailored strategies to prevent strokes before they occur.

Groundwater Biodiversity | Environmental Monitoring | Digital Innovation
AQUIFER PULSE is a Horizon Europe consortium initiative developing an integrated framework to assess the presence, functions and sensitivity of groundwater ecosystems. The project combines in-situ biological monitoring, eDNA/eRNA and functional analysis, Earth Observation and environmental data within an integrated digital framework to advance understanding of groundwater ecosystem health and support evidence-based monitoring and management.

HORIZON-CL5-2024-D3-02-08. A climate, energy, and mobility project. The SUSTOWINDS project addresses the critical need for sustainable and economical offshore wind farm development, responding to fragmented existing tools that fail to comprehensively integrate ecological, hydrodynamic, noise, and socio-economic factors. This gap leads to inefficient permitting processes, stakeholder conflicts, and inadequate biodiversity protection. SUSTOWINDS offers an innovative, flexible, and modular decision-support platform that consolidates all necessary inputs for robust lifecycle assessments, enabling comprehensive evaluations of environmental impacts while optimizing socio-economic benefits.

Knowledge Valorisation | Digital, Industry & Space
Valorisation through Intelligent Bridging with Europe (VIBE) was developed as a Horizon Europe CSA addressing Europe's innovation paradox—the gap between excellent research and real-world uptake. The concept combines AI-enabled tools, knowledge valorisation and ecosystem development to strengthen pathways from research to societal, policy and economic impact.
